Day whatever in the time-space CONTINUUM.

I know that it's been a while since my last blog. In fact, I'm writing this from my Man Cave at home (where I normally hangout). The trip to Paris is over, fertig. So how was the two weeks abroad? Well, as the famous line goes - "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Some of the trip was good, some was a disaster. Let's just say that most nights were a bust. Regardless, I really suspect that the trip will be the last time I visit Paris, and possibly the last time for other things traveling.

Ok, I know that I ended the last blog with a real cliff-hanger - will I make it across the Rhine River to Germany. Well, for those that follow my blog it was an easy answer. Nuturlich! After 2 nights in Strasbourg we went to Baden-Baden, Germany. Baden-Baden is a small town nestled in a valley. A beautiful place with a nice, slow pace. Previously, it was was my happy place. I've been to Baden-Baden many times with my kids and have such fond memories. Got a "suite" in my favorite hotel to try to make things even more enjoyable.

Stayed in Baden-Baden for 3 nights and then headed back to Strasbourg for a night to then catch the train back to Paris for our flight home. Last night in Paris was a bore. Fortunately the flights back to Norfolk were OK but after 22 hours of traveling, well the mind is welling but the body says - No mas!

So, after all this what did I learn from the trip? Well, Paris certainly values wine over beer. Paris is insanely expensive. Paris is suppose to be the city of lights and for lovers - can't confirm, I'm married. I really do like Germany and German food better. The German rail system is so much better than the French system. AND, lastly the food has gotten a little better on international flights.

Enjoy the collection of photos. I'm now planning my trip back to Germany.

Until next time, be safe, be good and später.
