A visit to the Christkindlmarkt ("Christ Child Market").
First, the title of this post is a play on a line from the movie A Clockwork Orange.
One of the things that I really enjoyed seeing the last time I was in Germany around Christmas were the Weihnachtsmarkts or the Christkindlmarkts. I made it to Marienplatz (I posted a lot of photos of the Marienplatz during my blogs in March) late morning Sunday and walked around the Münchener Christkindlmarkt. It was very, very cold (remember, my baggage was still to be delivered and it contains all my cold weather gear except for a jacket) so of course I had to warm up with a nice, hot cup of rot Glüwein (red mull wine). Mmmmmmm, tasty. Let's just say that it won't be the last cup during this trip.
So enjoy the snapshots below. It's hard to get great shots when you're cold, there's no sun only grey skies, and there are a lot of people.
