Captain's log Day 23: as many of you know already, I made it to Germany, my home away from home.

.

Day 23 was a long travel day. I woke up at 0400 in Delhi, flew to Helsinki, and then took another flight to München, Deutschland. There were so many experiences during this day of travel that I can't possibly discuss in a short blog.

The experience of checking in and traveling from India is, well, quite an experience. As one security guard said during my screening, "well, that's not how we do it in India."

needless to say, all was good and I did make it on the flight to Helsinki.

I flew Finnair because they have the most unique "lie-flat" bed in business class and I wanted to try it. Now, I haven't converted my seat to a bed on any of these flights, including the Finnair flight, but I have to say that the seat and the arrangement of the seat on the flight to Helsinki was the most comfortable experiences that I've had for a very long time.

And this was my first time flying to Finland (mark another country as listed). The Helsinki airport is a really cool place with some of the mist interesting restaurants and shops. Since we landed from a non-Schengen country, I had to go through security once again and passport control. As I was traveling through several more Schengen countries, I was asked a lot of questions at immigration and had to show that I had a booked trip back to the US - now the EU knows the US citizens would rather stay away from the US. When I arrived in Munich it was weird because for the first time I was entering from another Schengen county rather than the US so no passport control or immigration.

Made it to the hotel where I've stayed for years and years. They know me and had me checked in within minutes and after unwinding a bit - I crashed.

But now I'm ready to head out to the Hofbräuhaus.

Bis zum nächsten Mal, be safe, be kind and peace out Leute.
