I started off the day with a nice refreshing shower - I'm always confused by the fact that where I stay internationally, they have better water pressure and more hot water than the states. Hmmm, makes me wonder.
There wasn't a cloud in the sky today, but it was windy, and if you were not in direct sunlight it was rather chilly. Thankfully, my pre-trip research is paying off as my hotel is insanely convenient to things that I wanted to see in Asakusa. I'm 1 minute from the subway station, there's a Family Markt next door (7-11 like), 3 minutes from the river, and about 6 mins away from the gate leading to the oldest and largest temple in Tokyo. Oh, and I found a bar that is 5 mins away that was started in 1880 that serves 1L mugs of beer like Germany. It's Asahi not German beer but that's OK for now.
I think that things are going peachy and I think I'm turning Japanese. For my meal today I went to some kind of restaurant and ate things that I don't know what they were - I can't read Japanese and they couldn't speak English. It was yummy.
And iy didn't already know, there are a LOT of people in Tokyo. While you're walking in crowded areas everyone just bumps off each other. No one says anything. No one minds - it's just a part of life here.
At the street market and around the temple, I saw a new world record for selfies. Also, it was very strange in an interesting way that there were also a lot of girls in traditional Japanese clothing having their photos taking by professionals (with good cameras) or by their friends using with a cell phone. I guess it's the season to post their photos to Instagram. Of course, I got a few good shots of them when possible.
Weather is supposed to be good again tomorrow - now, where should I go?
Until next time, be safe, be kind and peace out people.
