First off, I hope that everyone (including Chip) had a great Christmas.
It's been almost a week since I left Munich for home. I arrived at the Raleigh-Durham airport mid-evening on the 23rd and went straight to a nearby hotel to crash. Headed out in the morning and arrived home on the 24th just in time for Christmas (I hope that everyone had a GREAT Christmas).
So you may wonder where exactly did I go on this trip? Below is a list of the places/days that I visited. All travail was on trains.
1 - Raleigh/Durham to Charlotte: I had to spend a night near the Charlotte Airport because my American Airlines connection flight to Charlotte was delayed to a point that I missed my original flight to Munich.
2- Charlotte to Munich - I stayed 9 nights in Munich and made two day trips (Ausberg and Garmish Parkenkirchen/Mittenwald).
3) Munich to Rothenburg ob der Tauber: 3 nights.
4) Rotenburg ob der Tauber to Bamberg: 2 nights.
5) Bamberg to Nuremberg: 3 nights
6) Nuremberg to Würzburg: 3 nights
7) Würzburg to Munich: 2 nights
8) Munich to Charlotte to RDU to Home.

Once again I had a great trip and met some nice people and made a few brief friends as being "der Foto Mann". Additionally, I really want to go back and spend some more time in Bamberg and Würzburg. There are, however, many more towns and villages for me to visit.
