Today started off as a yucky day. There was a lot of rain in the forecast so I did some chores - like taking a shower and washing some clothes - in the hotel sink of course. As I sat and waited for my hair to dry, the sun started to peek out from behind the clouds. It was time to jump into action.
I thought was that since this was my last day and ir was Christmas, I should hang out at the main Christmas market. Took the subway to Mairenplatz and as I soon as I made it outside it started to "rain". It was more like being pelted with small pieces of ice. Change in plan - off to the Hofbräuhaus for some beer.
If you know me, then you've hear about how much time I've spent at the Hofbräuhaus and the meaning that it has for me. But of course it was PACKED. I did wind up sitting at the end of a table with a family from Oklahoma. Not very talkative, but nice enough.
When it was time to leave I ventured back to the Christmas market and was there until a contact lens popped out - I knew then it was time to head back to the hotel
Hopped back on the subway for a quick ride to the Hauptbahnhof. And as I stepped out into the open - it was snowing!!!!
I love snow. To me, it's one of nature's greatest beauties. I have come to Germany the last couple of years to see snow and I have struck out. The strange thing is that it snowed, hard, as I walked the short distance from the train station to my hotel - and then it stopped, completely. To me this was a miracle, a Christmas miracle tailored made just for me and I am grateful.
May you too experience a personal Christmas miracle.
Until next time, be safe, be kind and peace out people.
